Veterinarian

Dr Amy

Amy graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and has worked in Australia and overseas in small animal general practice, referral and emergency veterinary hospitals and animal shelters. She also has experience in animal welfare and has worked as an animal welfare officer for the University of Melbourne and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

Amy is also interested in conservation and wildlife medicine. She is currently studying a Masters of Conservation Medicine through the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Edinburgh and has traveled overseas to work as a wildlife veterinarian, most recently in Central America.

Amy joined Wallan Veterinary Hospital in a part time position in August 2024. She also continues to work as an emergency and critical care veterinarian at 24 hour emergency hospitals in Melbourne. As reflected by her previous experience, she has a particular interest in animal welfare and patient care and is passionate about ensuring visits to the vet are the most positive experience possible for all pets.

Amy has two animals of her own: a mischievous but entirely adorable black Labrador called Eadie and a sensitive and lover-of-laps tabby cat called Cassius.  Both Eadie and Cassius love eating, going for walks and sleeping together on the couch.
